Students are welcome to wear any additional costume and trousers/skirts they would like to, as long as the t-shirt is not covered. They are free to be as creative as they like with their costumes, but must keep the Bloom t-shirt visible. Here is a moodboard for further info: www.bloomtuitionandeducation.com/costume-info-exam

If a skirt is worn, please ensure they wear shorts underneath to protect their dignity during the dance. Long hair must be tied/clipped back keep it from covering their faces or interfering with microphones. Heeled shoes are not permitted, please ensure trainers suitable for dancing are worn.

Youth Theatre Academy students are to wear their own costumes suitable for their play. They are not required to wear Bloom t-shirts.
What you can expect to see -
You’re invited to watch the students as they take their Group Acting exams! The grade your child completes depends on how many years they’ve been training with Bloom. All students begin with Grade 1, regardless of their school year, and progress to the next grade each year they continue with us.

The exam involves performing a short extract from a play that showcases key acting skills such as characterisation, projection, diction, and teamwork. Some of our returning students will be completing their Grade 6, 7, or 8 exams, while others are working towards their Diplomas - and this year, we even have students earning medals!

For our primary school performers, their piece, Flight of the Millennium Pigeon, will be presented in short sections. The class has been divided into groups, and each group will be treated as an individual exam, receiving its own grade.

For our Youth Theatre Academy members, students will perform short extracts from plays and adaptations of texts they’ll encounter in the GCSE English curriculum.
As today is an exam day, it is possible (however unlikely) that our examiner may wish to pause the performances or see part of them again, and will certainly ask the students some questions afterwards about their performance - this discussion is part of the exam.
Next Project -
From February to June we will produce a full musical, which we are excited to announce will be The Wizard of Oz!

Performance date: 27th June 2026 - Mark your calendars now!

As always, we will deliver PSHE topics through the themes of the plays to develop the Social, Emotional and Mental Health of the engaging students. Our focus is on communicating value and facilitating realisations to build students into people of substance who are equipped to face real world challenges, with the added bonus of a performance at the end!
Finally -
We are so looking forward to sharing the product of your student's work with you. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
Until then:
