COSTUME INFO

Please make sure to read all of the information thoroughly.

What you can expect to see -

We have 4 groups taking turns to perform 20-30 minute portions of the play, so you will get to see your child making their own personal contribution to a full length production.

All the characterisation you will see links to the themes we have covered over the course of this project. So we’re hoping you find the characters to be a shining example of resilience and determination.

Please note, not all students are playing main parts. Chorus roles are essential for those who haven’t done drama before, or who struggle with confidence. We always make sure to share these out fairly across projects. As a result, your child may not be playing a main role, but we hope that you will come and support all actors onstage because all roles are essential and valued. Our focus is on their experience throughout the project, so we will be doing everything we can to avoid putting pressure on the performance day. It is intended to be a day of celebration, that we can’t promise will be perfect, but we plan to provide a space full of applause and a sense of achievement.

Next year -

September - February

Our September to Feb project is an examined performance where an examiner from the Victoria College of Music and Drama London will venture up north and give the students a grade in Group Acting. (This works very similarly to music exams.) Friends and family are invited to watch the exam take place, with students split into small groups each performing a scene from the chosen play (TBC). 100% of our primary students have obtained Distinctions in years past, and we are looking forward to another great result next year.

February Onwards

For the rest of the year we will produce another full musical!

As always, we will deliver PSHE topics through the themes of the plays to develop the Social, Emotional and Mental Health of the engaging students. Our focus is on communicating value and facilitating realisations to build students into people of substance who are equipped to face real-world challenges, with the added bonus of a performance at the end!

Finally -

We are so looking forward to sharing the product of their work with you on the 19th of July. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Until then:
