GROUP ACTING EXAMS 2025
OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
FROM THE DIRECTOR
A warm welcome to our 2025 Group Acting examination day!
We’re delighted to have you with us for this special occasion! This marks the sixth year that our students have had the opportunity to take exams with our wonderful friends at the Victoria College of Music, London. Today is not just about the examinations—it’s a celebration of our talented young performers and a chance to come together and cheer them on.
Over two examination days, we’ll welcome more than 200 students from local primary schools and our Youth Theatre Academy students. They’ll be showcasing their hard work and passion for performance in front of the VCM examiner. We’re incredibly proud of their efforts and can’t wait to add their achievements to our track record of outstanding results.
Above all, however, we wish to extend our most sincere gratitude to you, our families, for making today happen - for the nights spent practicing lines, the time spent standing at school gates in the rain waiting to collect your children at the end of the sessions, and for buying your tickets today.
Thank you for working with us to enrich young lives.

THE EXAMS
The Victoria College of Music and Drama, London, is an independent organisation that has been offering examinations in Music, Speech, and Drama since 1890. With a long history of conducting exams across the British Isles and beyond, it continues to provide students with valuable opportunities to showcase their talents.

What to Expect from the Exam:
Students will perform a short extract from a play that highlights essential acting skills such as characterisation, projection, diction, and teamwork. Our returning students will be taking exams ranging from Grades 2 to 8, with four groups working towards their Diplomas. New students will start at Grade 1.

-
Primary School Students will present their performance of The Pied Piper of Spamtim in short scenes. Each grade level is assessed as a single group.
-
Youth Theatre Academy Students will perform extracts from plays and texts linked to the GCSE English curriculum rather than full plays.
Important Notes for Today:
Since today is an official exam day, the examiner may occasionally pause a performance, request a scene to be repeated, or ask students questions about their work—this discussion is a key part of the exam.
We kindly ask that all families switch off or put away phones and electronic devices during performances and post-performance discussions. These moments require full concentration, and your support will help our young performers feel confident and focused.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of the Bloom team. Thank you for being here and for supporting our students on this exciting day!
