This term, we are thrilled to give a special shout-out to the entire student body of St. Hilda's C of E Primary School! For their first time performing with Bloom, they dazzled us all and matched the talent of our most experienced groups. The chaperones were absolutely delighted with their behaviour, highlighting them as the best-behaved group of the day. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and excellent conduct truly shone through and made us all so proud.

Special Recognition:

A huge thank you to Amy Peasnall (PYTA), our incredible stage manager for the performance. Amy’s exceptional organisational skills and leadership ensured that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes, allowing our performers to shine on stage. Her dedication and hard work were integral to the success of the show.

Looking Ahead:

As we reflect on this incredible performance, we are filled with excitement for what the future holds. We will continue to build on the skills and confidence our students have gained, striving to create even more memorable and enriching experiences in the terms to come.

Next year, we’re excited to announce that our September to February performances will feature examined productions, where students will receive a grade in Group Acting from the prestigious Victoria College of Music and Drama London. This is a recognised qualification that they'll be able to reference on applications for years to come.

Our primary school students will be engaging in a specially written play designed to enhance their learning in various PSHE topics, fostering their Social, Emotional, and Mental Health development.

Meanwhile, the Poynton Youth Theatre Academy will dive into a selection of classic plays from their English set texts. This initiative supports students by integrating their English studies with practical drama experience, allowing them to explore and embody characters from GCSE English curriculum texts. By the time they reach their GCSE exams, they will have a profound understanding of the material, giving them a significant advantage. Additionally, the focus on the Assessment Objectives of GCSE Drama will ensure that students’ skills are finely tuned, preparing them to excel in their school drama lessons and stand out in their practical GCSE Drama exams.

Our second project, from February - July, will see another full musical production. The play chosen is currently TBD. Suggestions welcome on our instagram story.

All professional pictures of the performance will be released on our instagram over the coming months, so make sure you’re following us!

Wonka Weekly:

We are thrilled to share a special treat with you in this edition of our newsletter: Wonka Weekly! This delightful newspaper was handed out during our recent performance, capturing the whimsical spirit and excitement of the show. Its pages are filled with charming articles, fun features, and behind-the-scenes glimpses that perfectly encapsulate the magic of our production. We received such enthusiastic feedback about how wonderfully it added to the performance experience, that we just had to share it with everyone. So, grab a cup of cocoa, and immerse yourself in the fun and fantasy of Wonka Weekly—a masterpiece that deserves to be enjoyed by all!

Final notes:

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. Let’s celebrate this wonderful achievement and look forward to more fantastic performances together!
