As we step into a new academic year, we’re still glowing with pride after an unforgettable performance weekend in July. Our students delivered something truly special on stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of the energy, heart and dedication they brought to the process.
Highlights of the Performance:

Standout Talent
Each performer brought their character to life with incredible presence and commitment. The energy was electric, the storytelling was strong, and the joy on stage was contagious.
Teamwork and Spirit
The support the students showed for one another was exceptional. Backstage, onstage and everywhere in between, they worked together, lifted each other up and created a really positive environment.
Growth and Confidence
Many of our young actors stretched themselves this term - stepping into new roles, learning new skills and growing in self belief. Watching them rise to the challenge has been a real highlight for all of us at Bloom.
⭐ Stars of the Term
Charlie (EM)
Delivered a scene so sharply timed and hilariously executed that it had the whole room in stitches. Charlie didn’t just land the jokes - he lived in the rhythm of the comedy, understanding exactly what the moment needed and bringing his character to life with effortless charm and razor-sharp instincts.
Florence (OLOR)
Has become one of the most exciting actors to watch, never doing the obvious thing, but always doing the right thing for her character. Her choices are bold, sensitive, and completely her own. We couldn't be prouder of her performance.
Tiana & Dhun (SA)
Always the first to arrive and quietly leading by example in the moments between scenes. This dramatic duo brings a calm confidence to the room, the kind that sharpens focus and lifts everyone around them. Their performance was electric, and we can't wait to see how they grow even more dramatic (if that's even possible!).
Clara (SH)
Clara is simply exceptional. She has a remarkable instinct for when to lead and when to lift others up, always bringing clarity, intention, and genuine care to everything she does. Whether she’s in the spotlight or supporting someone else, she makes every moment shine. A joy to teach, a generous collaborator, and a truly kind friend - she makes every room better just by being in it.
Alfie (V – Charlotte’s Group)
Alfie has shown remarkable growth in both confidence and creativity this term. What stood out most was his ability to take direction and transform it into something entirely original - a true mark of a performer. He even stepped in to cover another role at the last minute with calm professionalism and maturity well beyond his years. Alfie is truly capable of anything he sets his mind to.
Izzy GH (V – Eleanor’s Group)
From day one, Izzy has approached every exercise with genuine curiosity and focus. She listens deeply, adapts quickly, and absorbs notes with a maturity well beyond her years. Always a thoughtful and grounding presence in the room - kind, wildly intelligent, and an absolute pleasure to work with.
Lydia (PYTA)
Lydia delivered a scene so well crafted and emotionally tuned that it genuinely silenced the room. It wasn’t just about the performance, it was about how deeply she understood what her character needed. Grounded, powerful, and full of truth, she continues to grow into a performer with incredible depth and presence.
Special shoutout to our brilliant choreographers: Sophie, Eben, Ava, Izzy, James, and Amy W - for creating such dynamic, thoughtful movement throughout. Your creativity shaped the piece in unforgettable ways. Thank you!

Spotlight on St Ann's
This term, we are thrilled to give a special shout-out to the entire student body of St Ann's RC Primary School. They dazzled us with their focus and talent, easily matching the standard of our most experienced groups. The chaperones described them as the best behaved group of the day, and their conduct, kindness and enthusiasm made us so proud. We’re already looking forward to working with them again this year!
Special Recognition
A huge thank you to Cara (PYTA), our incredible stage manager. Cara's sharp eye, calm leadership and commitment ensured that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. Her quiet professionalism gave our cast the space to shine.
Looking Ahead
This year, we are excited to launch examined performances between September and February. Students will receive a Grade in Group Acting from the prestigious Victoria College of Music and Drama London - a recognised qualification they can reference in applications for years to come.
Our primary school performers will explore a brand new play, designed to support key PSHE topics and develop their emotional and social literacy through storytelling.
At Poynton Youth Theatre Academy, we’ll be diving into key texts from the GCSE English curriculum, helping students embody and explore characters long before their English exam peers even read the material. The work will also sharpen practical skills aligned with the GCSE Drama Assessment Objectives, ensuring that our students stand out in every sense.
From February to July, we’ll return with another full-scale musical production!
Final Notes
Thank you once again for your continued support, trust and enthusiasm. We are constantly inspired by the dedication of our students and families. Let’s celebrate a brilliant end to last year and look forward to another exciting year of creativity and growth.
See you soon,
The Bloom Team
