Harrison - EM

Firstly, we’ve got an inspiring story to share that's filled with courage and a whole lot of heart! Meet Harrison, one of the amazing young minds we have the pleasure of working with. Recently, he opened up about feeling a bit nervous for our next performance. But here's where the magic happened. Harrison tackled those nerves head-on and made use of our line-learning trick. Soon enough, his nerves turned into pure excitement! What's even more incredible is how Harrison's story sparked a wave of inspiration among his peers. His openness encouraged others to share their own moments of nervousness and ways they've overcome them. That's the magic of support and encouragement in action!

Beyond being a talented individual, Harrison is a true champion of positivity. His willingness to share and uplift others is what makes him shine brightly within our group. Let's give a huge round of applause to Harrison for not just overcoming his nerves, but for inspiring a whole classroom full of courage and camaraderie!

Here's our line learning trick if you'd like to follow in Harrison's footsteps and help your child feel confident in delivering their lines:

  1. Read half a page of lines (it is most effective when another person helps and reads the other character's lines)

  2. Read over the same lines again but reading them as fast as you possibly can.

  3. Turn the script over and do it without looking.

  4. Repeat.

This is a line learning trick we use at Holiday Clubs where students learn an entire play in 5 days.

Ethan, Eben, Lily & Emma - V

Next up, Ethan. Ethan has recently joined our Drama Club and already, his contributions have been nothing short of spectacular. Despite being new to the stage, his enthusiasm and dedication have made a significant impact. He's diving headfirst into the world of drama, bringing fresh ideas and a contagious energy to our group. His eagerness to embrace something new and his quick integration into the club is truly commendable. It's clear that Ethan's passion for drama is matched only by his talent and commitment.

We'd also like to take a moment to highlight two incredible dancers within our midst: Lily and Emma. Lily and Emma's dedication and passion for dance shine brightly in every step. Their synchronised moves and expressive storytelling leave us spellbound. Their pursuit of excellence and innate ability to captivate an audience is truly remarkable.

Before we move on, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the incredible presence of Eben within our midst. Eben isn't just an exceptional actress; she's a force of leadership and inspiration. Her performances on stage have always been nothing short of remarkable. But it's not just her acting prowess that sets her apart; it's her innate ability to effortlessly guide and lead her group with grace and skill that truly leaves us in awe. Eben's leadership isn't about taking charge; it's about lifting others up, nurturing their talents, and fostering an environment where everyone feels valued. Her dedication to her craft and her team is a testament to her unwavering commitment and passion. Whether it's encouraging her fellow actors, brainstorming creative ideas, or ensuring everyone feels included, Eben's presence makes a world of difference within our Drama Club. Her ability to inspire and guide speaks volumes about her character. Let's all join hands in applauding Eben for her exceptional talent, her leadership that shines so brightly, and for being an incredible role model to us all!

Lyra & Grace - SA

We're thrilled to introduce two remarkable young talents who are not just incredible actors but also budding dancers: Lyra and Grace!

Fresh to our group and among our youngest members, Lyra and Grace have already made an unforgettable impression. Their dance moves? Absolutely mesmerising! Their performances on the dance floor are a symphony of skill, grace, and passion.

But wait, there's more! These young stars aren't only fabulous dancers; they've also dazzled us with their acting talents. Their enthusiasm and natural flair for the dramatic arts have added a new dimension to our group's performances. Despite being new to the group, Lyra and Grace have quickly become shining examples of talent and enthusiasm. Their performances amaze us, but it's their kindness and willingness to step out of their comfort zones that truly stand out.

Aoife - OLOR

In one of our sessions this term, Aoife exhibited an extraordinary level of maturity and insight that resonated profoundly with everyone present.

Her remarkable ability to articulate and discern the fine line between peer pressure and the constructive guidance provided by a trusted adult brought forth an enlightening moment. Aoife's adept discernment of this complex topic allowed us to navigate the nuances between external influences and authentic support for personal development.

What stood out was not just her profound awareness but also her skilful navigation of a topic that can often be challenging to grasp. Her eloquence and mature approach facilitated an enlightening discussion that delved deep into the dynamics of influence and positive growth.

Aoife's perceptive leadership not only shed light on a complex subject, but also encouraged an open dialogue. Her exceptional capability to express and dissect such intricate concepts showcases a level of awareness and understanding far beyond her years.

Let's take a moment to applaud Aoife for her insightful leadership and her ability to elucidate such intricate matters with clarity and finesse!

Year 8 & Amy W - Youth Theatre Academy

Our Youth Theatre Academy has been immersed in dedicated preparations across various texts, gearing up for exam Grades 6, 7, 8 in Group Acting and (the highest award) Diplomas in Group production. This term, we're thrilled to shine a spotlight on the outstanding efforts of our Year 8 cohort.

Amidst the collective enthusiasm and hard work of our academy, Year 8 has truly stood out. Their commitment to their chosen texts and the preparation for their upcoming assessments has been nothing short of remarkable.

The dedication, creativity, and focus demonstrated by our Year 8 students as they prepare for their assessments has been exceptional. Their passion for their craft is evident in the depth of their interpretations and the energy they bring to their rehearsals and studies. Their journey towards their exam showcases not just their talent but also their diligence and determination to achieve excellence in their theatrical pursuits.

Within this group, we’d like to particularly highlight Amy W. Amy's leadership in the realm of monologue writing has been nothing short of exceptional. Her creative prowess and dedication have led the way, guiding our team through the intricacies of crafting compelling monologues. Her talent for storytelling through words is truly remarkable. But that's not all! Amy's prowess doesn't stop at writing. Her performances on stage showcase an incredible depth of acting talent. Every movement she makes is considered, deliberate, and flawlessly executed. Her presence on stage is a testament to her dedication and the sheer skill she brings to every performance. Whether she's penning heartfelt monologues or gracing the stage with her exceptional acting, Amy consistently demonstrates a level of artistry and precision that is simply outstanding.

Vernon Primary School

Finally, let's give a standing ovation to the incredible students at Vernon Primary School! We recently offered them a session packed with characterisation games, expecting the usual excitement. But hold onto your hats because something extraordinary happened.

Every single student at Vernon Primary School blew us away with their sheer dedication. Instead of diving into characterisation games, they surprised us by expressing their eagerness to push their boundaries and dive straight into running through scenes. Yes, you read that right—every single student was keen to challenge themselves and work on the scenes!

This level of commitment left us speechless. It's a first for us! The enthusiasm and determination shown by the entire school truly set them apart. Their readiness to step up and tackle challenges head-on is a testament to their unwavering dedication.

Vernon Primary School, you've left us in awe with your exceptional drive and dedication to giving your best. Your willingness to go above and beyond is an inspiration to us all! Here's to Vernon Primary School's incredible spirit of dedication and their commitment to reaching new heights.

Exam info -

Our primary focus for this project is our upcoming examined performance. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their talent, taking turns to perform scenes to gain a grade in Group Acting from the Victoria College of Music and Drama London.

All our primary students embark on their journey at Grade 1 and steadily progress each year. We're thrilled to share that last year, all of our primary school students achieved Distinctions in their exams. Our high school students will be completing grades 6, 7 and 8, as well as Diplomas in Group Acting.

As we approach this year's examination, we want to emphasise that there's no need for apprehension. The examination environment is far from intimidating; in fact, it's designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience that serves to boost confidence. We look forward to another year of excellent results, as we continue to nurture and empower our students in their artistic journeys. Your unwavering support is instrumental in their continued success, and we can't wait to see our young performers shine once again.

Merry Christmas from the Bloom team!

See you next term.
