Hello Bloom Families,

ree

What a wonderful term it has been! From the very first week back, our students have thrown themselves into classes with energy, creativity, and curiosity. This term has been full of growth, laughter, and teamwork, and we’ve loved seeing every child develop both their drama skills and their confidence. As the holiday season approaches, it feels like the perfect time to celebrate all they’ve achieved, reflect on the moments that made us proud, and share some of the highlights from the past few months.

What We’ve Been Learning About

This term, our focus has been kindness: being kind to ourselves, to others, going above and beyond, and practising acts of kindness even when it’s not asked of us. Through our scripts, discussions, and rehearsal work, students have explored three key areas of personal growth:

ree
  1. Being Kind to Ourselves

We’ve looked at how self-kindness helps us grow, stay positive, and build confidence. Students have been learning to notice their strengths, celebrate achievements, and approach challenges with care and patience.

  1. Being Kind to Others

Small acts of kindness can make a big difference to those around us, both on stage and in everyday life. Students have practised listening, encouraging others, and offering help without being asked.

  1. Going Above and Beyond

Kindness also means noticing opportunities to support and inspire others, even when it isn’t expected. Students have been stepping in to help peers, sharing skills, and leading by example through positive actions and encouragement.

Through these lessons, students have seen how kindness strengthens teamwork, supports personal growth, and makes every rehearsal and performance more enjoyable for everyone.

A Festive Reminder

Celebrating Our Stars of the Term

We’ve loved seeing our students grow in confidence, creativity, and teamwork this term. Congratulations to all of our Stars of the Term:

EM - Marieta

Marieta has been a true joy in every session this term. Her dedication to her work is evident in every rehearsal, and she approaches each task with confidence and focus. Beyond her own performance, she consistently supports and encourages her peers, offering thoughtful feedback and a helping hand. Her positive energy and commitment make her a role model in the class.

OLOR - Amelia

Amelia has embraced every challenge this term with courage and curiosity. She has consistently stepped out of her comfort zone, tackling new roles with enthusiasm and delivering rich, nuanced characterisation. Her willingness to experiment and take risks on stage has been inspiring, and it’s been wonderful to watch her grow in confidence and skill.

SA - Leah

Leah has shone brightly this term, showing a growing passion for drama and a genuine love for performing. Her confidence continues to blossom, and she brings warmth and focus to every rehearsal. She approaches each scene with curiosity and care, and her dedication to developing her characters is truly impressive.

SH - Seb

As a new member of the class, Seb has settled in seamlessly and quickly become a valued part of the group. He brings energy and expression to his performances, encourages others with kindness, and engages fully in all aspects of class. His natural enthusiasm and willingness to participate in every activity have made him a pleasure to teach.

V - Isla CP

Isla has been a brilliant addition to her group this term. She consistently brings creativity and enthusiasm to every task and approaches her learning with thoughtfulness and commitment. Her curiosity, imagination, and readiness to collaborate have had a wonderfully positive effect on the class, and she is already making a lasting impression.

PYTA - Beatrice

Beatrice has made an outstanding start with her Christmas Carol performance. She dives deeply into her text, showing insight, analytical thinking, and a genuine understanding of her character. Beyond her own work, she contributes to the group with encouragement and thoughtful collaboration, demonstrating maturity and dedication far beyond her years.

Congratulations to all our stars for their hard work and dedication this term!

Celebrating Our Poynton Youth Theatre Academy Students

Our Poynton Youth Theatre Academy students follow a very different pathway from our primary groups. Instead of performing the same production, they work with classic set texts, preparing scenes for their exam performances in groups where they take the lead.

ree

They decide how their work is staged, how their characters are interpreted, and how the performance is shaped. This independence is a huge part of their development, and the creativity they bring to the room each week is consistently inspiring.

A group of our students have now completed every group acting exam from Grade 1 to Grade 8, along with two performance diplomas - all awarded a Distinction. This is an extraordinary achievement that reflects years of dedication and genuine passion for performance.

This year, this group have taken things a step further by beginning medals in public speaking, choosing their own topics and crafting thoughtful, articulate speeches. These qualifications are a fantastic addition to their CVs and future university applications, and the standard of work they’ve produced so far has been exceptional. We are incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved and can’t wait to see the final results in their performances next year.
